The lock is designated for keeping the break block on the rail to avoid stealing of it. The lock is used only by railwaymen and it 's installed on the break block in following cases:
- for securing rolling stock during long time of classification yard settlement or stay;
- for securing cars, groups of cars, train stocks on remote tracks, where constant supervision by station, enterprises employees over it is impossible or complicated.
The installation of the lock doesn't exclude the possibility for the break block to freely move along the rails. To install the lock on break block it is necessary:
- to mount break block on the rail head;
- to place the lock body 1 into the opening of the break block;
- to insert the lock shackle 2 into the lower opening of the body;
- to insert key 3 into the central opening of the body and to turn
it clockwise up to positive stop;
- to check secure locking by way of pulling the body and shackle
in opposite directions without taking the shackle out of the body.
The lock is mounted and dismounted in 25-30 seconds.
Lock mass doesn't exceed 0,7 kg.
Lock structure provides for it's secure functioning under temperatures
from + 55 °С up to – 60 °С in conditions of snowfall,
rain, icing.
All locks available at the station are opened by one shape key,
thus providing quick locking and unlocking.
To install the lock on break block it is necessary:
